Terms and Conditions

General Rules
Your receipt of payment must be carried at all times when at 'The Captains Lake', and produced upon request to bailiffs or the landowners. Failure to do so will result in you being required to leave the lake.

Dogs, Guns & Wildlife
Dogs are not permitted and the carrying of a gun is strictly forbidden, unless previously authorised. Also please do not harm or disturb any wildlife.

Food & Litter

No guest shall leave litter, either on land or in the water. No food or bait is to be discarded at the lake as it could encourage rats. Guests are responsible for the cleanliness of their own swim, so please leave the swim, as you would expect to find it.

Noise

Guests are requested to keep noise levels to a minimum (inc bite alarms). Audio equipment is limited to the use of headphones only. Remote control boats etc are forbidden.

Damage

No damage or alterations are to be made to the banks, plant life or property unless you have been authorised to do so.

Movement & Retention of Fish
No person shall introduce or remove any fish without authorisation. The use of Carp sacks is forbidden; Carp may be retained for a short period only, while setting up camera equipment. Keep nets may be used provided they are at least 3 meters long and constructed of carp safe material for the bottom 2 rings and along the full length of at least 1 side. Any fish showing signs of distress are to be released immediately. No fish above 2lbs are to be retained.

Handling & Fish Safety
Unhooking mats are to be used when unhooking larger fish i.e. Carp. When using cloths, ensure the cloth is wet before handling the fish. The use of bent hooks, fixed ledger weights' & braided mainlines on rods over 2.25lb T/c is forbidden.

Bait & Rods
Particle baits are permitted provided that they are correctly prepared. (Typically soaked for 24 hours and then boiled for 30 min.) Only human grade peanuts are allowed as other grades can kill fish. Animal biscuits such as mixers must be soaked to swell before use.
PRE-BAITING IS NOT PERMITTED. A maximum of 3 rods are allowed per angler.

Reminders
All EA bylaws apply. Guests must carry 2 valid rod licences at all times, and produce when requested, if using 3 rods
